When it comes to vet marketing, it can be challenging for those who were not taught to have a business & growth mindset. If you're looking to create new connections & grow your veterinary business- look no further! Here are the 5 best tips coming from someone who is passionate about & researched the industry:
1. Create a Blog For Your Clinic
Think about when you google something- some of the first things to come up are blogs that provide content and other information. These blogs are fundamental in creating a brand/ community online. Through blogs you can:
Build credibility/ community online
Increase CTR's (Click Through Rate) to your site, generating more traction
Enhance your website's search engine ranking (allows you to pop up sooner rather than later when someone google's "vet clinic near me")
2. Create a Community on Your Social Media Channels
Being a local business gives you the unique opportunity to create genuine, meaningful relationships with your local clients. Social media is a great way to stay connected and ensure customer retention!
How do you do this? Here a couple suggestions:
Client Testimonials: ask clients to feature their pets & their experience and post them, this gives clients a real connection to your cause.
Hold social media contests
Customize the look of your social channels by making sure it's relevant to your specific clients (and prospective clients!)
3. Start Creating Video Content
People LOVE animals- what's better than a cute video of a puppy?.. Nothing! Not only is video the most popular form of content on social channels right now- it is so easy to use and can help you gain immense traffic to your accounts.
What kind of content can you create? Here are some suggestions:
Documenting interesting or crazy cases you've seen at your clinic
Make compilation videos of cute animals of the week
Q & A with a veterinarian to answer frequently asked questions
Pet owner tips series: give a tip on how to keep people's pets healthy, make it a series by keeping it ongoing and doing it once a week for example.
4. Create Profiles on Your Staff Members
Everyone knows pets are like family, and we all want our pets to be in the best hands possible! Creating profiles on your staff members so clients can engage with and get familiar with them can greatly help you when it comes to client trust.
5. Give Back to Your Community
Creating connections with other local businesses can strengthen your recognition and brand awareness to the local consumer!
Be sure to partner with businesses that agree with your own values, and focus on social responsibility- such as a local rescue/ animal shelter. This gives you credibility and connects you to a whole world of new clients that you might not have had before.
Overall, focus on making a connection.
One of the most important ideals in marketing is making a connection to the consumer- making them feel like they are part of the brand.
Don't be afraid to get creative and use different strategies to see what works for your specific business. This creativity can help capture the eye of both current and new clients, while driving engagement- and hopefully, connections.
